Here's to Literacy & Dressing Better

"Meaningful work is a gift. If you can find some, it doesn't matter what it is, only that it engages you." - Erin McKean

Lulu Loves Books

I would be perfectly happy with a job where I can read all day! Anyone know where I can find one?

Read this book over the weekend. I've never been a big vintage shopper, but this book made me think twice. Now I want a dress with history behind it. I wish my grandma still had her dresses when she was growing up in the Philippines. I'll need to dig up the very few photos she has and start there for inspiration. Hopefully I can find something of resemblance to something she used to wear.

The reading group guide at the end of the book had some great questions:
  • If the outfit you're wearing right now were to tell a story, what would it say? Sadly what I'm wearing now has no story to tell. I don't think my jeans and t-shirt have anything to say.
  • Do you have any items in your closet that would have interesting stories to share? I'm hoping something in my closet would have some interesting stories! If not, I've been living a sad, sad life!
  • Do you wear something you love every day? No, I do not wear something I love every day. Why don't I? Makes me want to start dressing better!

Celebrate International Literacy Day! Read a book! Thank a teacher and your parents for teaching you to read! And wear something you love every day!
